Yesterday, official diligence members from European Athletics landed in Israel to have a first official meeting with the LOC towards the European Athletics U20 Championships at the beginning of August.
The meeting was held all day, and the matters on the agenda were the championships timetable, technologies matters, innovations, building the championships facilities, technical aspects, referees matters, and more.
Jack Cohen – U20 championships manager and head of the international department at the IAA:
״I am pleased about this coordination meeting with European Athletics. This is an essential visit where we discuss the organizational foundations and aspects of hosting the 49 European states on the best side. The championships we held last summer (European Athletics U18 championships) received many praises, and our intention is not only to recreate it but to put on an even more successful event.”
“We are pleased to be back in Jerusalem for the European Athletics U20 Championship. Our first site visit to prepare the event went well, and the LOC is making every effort to use their experience from last year and improve the experience for the athletes and the fans”.
Quentin Pirlet- project and technology manager, European Athletics.
